The perfect destination for your travels

img_5299.jpeg

Nosy Be is an island located on the north-west coast of the Madagascar archipelago and it is an island of volcanic origin, the largest of an archipelago of smaller islands, many of them uninhabited. In the inner part of the island we find tropical forest, spice plantations from which an essence is obtained used for the production of many perfumes, and sugarcane crops, from which rum is distilled.
On this island live a variety of Macaco lemurs (a species of monkey found only in Madagascar), chameleons, birds of various species and snakes such as the boa constrictor.

Crocodiles originally from the Nile, donated many years ago, are present in all volcanic-origin lakes and also in some marshy areas.

The flora boasts about 12,500 different species of Plants, Flowers, Fruits, Bananas, Mango, Litchi, Vanilla and also many Medicinal ones.
A trip to Nosy Be, the tourist island of Madagascar, is ideal for those who want to immerse themselves in an atmosphere of peace and relaxation in full contact with nature.
If you love the sea and dream of paradise beaches, the destination for you is without doubt Nosy Be, where the water temperature allows swimming all year round.
For this reason, in recent years the island of Nosy Be has been one of the most popular destinations, a unique and still unspoiled, quiet place to spend a week of relaxation with family and children, even very small ones, without problems

Nosy Be Marine Park

A varied coral reef in a prime location in Nosy Be Bay in Madagascar, confirming the title of “natural aquarium”.

The Tanikely marine reserve, with its different corals and exceptional biodiversity, offers a perfect habitat for many marine species.

Warm tropical waters and the river’s alluvial input offer many marine species a home on this small island; in fact, a diverse marine fauna lives around the island.

Nosy Tanikely means “island of small land”. We can also speak of an uninhabited atoll. Visitors come on day trips; it is forbidden to stay overnight on the island, which nevertheless is of scenic interest, even for those who are not very interested in the seabed.

Since 2010, visits have been controlled.

A radius of 700 m around the island’s lighthouse marks the nature reserve.

The buildings on the island are modest: a reception, a picnic area, a documentation center, and toilets.

The beach to the east allows swimming, and diving around the island is also possible. Buoys mark the reserve.

Especially recommended for diving, snorkeling, freediving, and the seabed, but also for naturalists and day-trippers).

nosy komba

Nosy Komba

It is located between Nosy Be, the famous island of perfumes, and Madagascar.

It is a large mountain of 622 m, covered by a dense tropical forest, and it looks like a giant turtle shell surrounded by volcanic rocks that protect it from marine weather.

The island of lemurs is called in Malagasy Nosy Ambariovato, meaning island of rocks. There are many small beaches, and an emerald-colored sea that make Nosy Komba a little jewel of nature, ever more sought-after, and beginning to outshine the more famous Nosy Be.

In Nosy Komba you will find a variety of lemurs called Macaco.

There is no electricity, there are no roads or cars and
peace and quiet reign supreme.

For its nature and the gentleness of its inhabitants, for the tourist it is easy to be drawn into the atmosphere you feel on the island

ISLAND TOUR

This type of excursion lets you discover the island of Nosy Be and it can’t be missed in your travel plan.
This typical tour can be divided into two parts.

THE FIRST PART consists of visiting the southern area, stopping at the following points of interest: C.N.R.O (National Oceanographical Reserch Centre): a museum that contains species of marine animals found in Malagasy waters. About 50 different varieties of fish are on display here.

the spectacular visit to the Ylang-Ylang distillery where the oil of this plant is extracted, used as a fixative in perfumes or even as a perfume itself. Ylang-Ylang is the characteristic plant that grows on Nosy Be and strongly contributes to its nickname “Island of perfumes”, thanks to the aromas this yellow flower releases into the air.

Hell Ville is the capital and the most important center of the island and bears the marks of colonialism in many buildings.
The colorful markets, the small shops along the road, the port, the historic buildings, the market, make it very cheerful, picturesque and full of life.
A stop here is necessary to buy some typical souvenirs or simply start getting your bearings, to possibly come back in the following days.
The last stop of the morning is in Ampombilava: a mysterious place where there is a forest of curious, distinctive plants whose roots stretch up toward the sky: these plants are called “BANIAN”. Here we find the “Sacred tree”: a huge “ficus Bengalensis” whose branches and aerial roots create a dome over 50 meters in diameter.

We will head north toward Andilana beach, where we can swim in turquoise waters and then immerse ourselves in the island’s lush nature, breathing in its scents and savoring its peace and silence. We will visit the area of the volcanic lakes, stopping at the most characteristic spots to allow you to take beautiful photos and admire the views. We will reach the summit of Mont Passot, from where it will be possible to admire the entire archipelago and a splendid sunset, taking truly unique photos.

Hell Ville City Market Excursion

                   Sacred Tree and Sacred Waterfalls

Our day will start at 8:30 in the morning towards Hell Ville; as a first stop we will visit the market where you can find all local things, rich in colors and Madagascar traditions. Second stop we will visit the Lemuria Land Park

Sacred Tree

“Between History and Animism”

You reach it by walking on the heights, with a panoramic position over the bay of Andoany. This place is the deep soul of Nosy Be; you can feel it vibrate in the incredible forest formed by the aerial roots of this gigantic Ficus Benga- lensis, over two centuries old, imported from India as a gift to the Sakalava Queen Tsiomeko and planted in the place that marked the Queen’s own life. Venerated in the name of the ancient royal family, a place of worship, rituals, sacrifices and vows, it is entered wearing a Kisaly that covers the body. The colossal roots of this giant spread over an area of 5 thousand square meters!

Third stop we will go for lunch at a very good quality restaurant, and after lunch we will go for the last stop, which is the Sacred Tree with a special Malagasy tradition. Last stop

Sacred Waterfalls

As we know, many places are considered sacred and are dedicated to the worship of ancestors according to the ancestral Animist tradition.
The Sacred waterfalls are one of these magical places and are easily recognized by the white and red cloths that are wrapped around the tree trunks or on the rocks of the waterfall itself.
You reach the waterfall after a walk in the lush forest, skirting at times the river that creates it.
In the waters of the natural pool under the falls we can bathe, better if first we dedicate a thought and an offering to the spirits of the place in order to obtain their “approval”.
Usually small coins, honey or rum are offered.
